Kyrie Irving made NBA history during the Mavericks-Celtics game

 The Celtics won 138-110, and Kyrie Irving had 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

The Dallas Mavericks will take on the Boston Celtics in Massachusetts on Friday evening.  

During the game, Kyrie Irving made NBA history by passing Kemba Walker (1,670) for sole ownership of the 34th spot on the all-time three-pointers record.    

After Walker, Irving will pass Hall of Famer Steve Nash (1,685).    

In 37 games, Irving averaged 25.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 49.5% from the field and 42.5% from three-point range.   

The Mavericks are the Western Conference's seventh seed, with a 34-25 record after 59 games.  

They are 8-2 in their previous ten games, most recently defeating the Toronto Raptors 136-125. 

Irving finished with 29 points, one rebound, three assists, two steals, and one block in 35 minutes of play, shooting 11/20 from the field and 2/6 from three. 

After the Celtics, the Mavericks will return home to face the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday afternoon in Dallas, Texas.

Irving was the first choice in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Duke and is now in his 12th season in the league.  

Aside from Dallas, he has also played for the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, and Cleveland Cavaliers.
