The Steelers are reportedly going to sign Cordarrelle Patterson

The Steelers are still showing Jerry Jones what "all-in" means.

Steelers reportedly will sign Cordarrelle Patterson

According to NFL Media, Pittsburgh plans to sign veteran kick returner and offensive weapon Cordarrelle Patterson to a two-year, $6 million contract.

It's no accident that Cordarrelle signed a new contract on the same day the NFL revolutionised kickoffs. Patterson may have a greater influence than ever before, with additional returns on the way in 2024.

Patterson was drafted in the first round in 2013 and has since played for the Vikings, Raiders, Patriots, Bears, and Falcons. He has nine career kickoff returns for touchdowns, an all-time high.

He can also play offensively, as a runner and receiver. Patterson had 1,166 yards from scrimmage for the Falcons in 2021, including 618 rushing and 548 receiving.

However, his abilities as a kickoff returner undoubtedly drew the Steelers' attention. And if he can take advantage of the new arrangement and run through the cluster of covering players for long gains, Pittsburgh's opponents will soon be kicking the ball past the end zone and allowing the Steelers to begin drives from the 30.
